Hi! I'm making my first interail trip next week and i need an advice from you.
I have the 10/22 days flexy pass and somewhere in my route i need to go from Barcelona to Italy (Milan, Genova or Turim). I want to do this point to point with only one or two stops in two days. I don't want to go to a very crowded place, but i imagine that the south of France is very full in this time of the year. I was thinking in Avignon...but i'm open to suggestions!
Can you also tell me the cheapest way to do this trip paying the minimun fees possible or even none.
Thank you very much!

Hi.
You can travel Barcelona to Nice for free with Interrail and then Nice to Milan also for free, but reservation recommended for EUR 3. Overnight stay then in Nice. Or you could also stop in Marseille for example.
An other option is to use the ferry from Barcelona to Italy.
All schedules and more details here: https://rail.cc/en/search-interrail-route
And please give me your order-ID (PNR) of your Interrail pass purchase on the recommended website - then I can set you PLUS for a more detailed answer. Thank you. :)
As it is not fair to buy your ticket somewhere else but to use the railcc forum and support for free.
Peter :)

The South of France is a place I find very beautiful. From Barcelona we took trains and a bus to St Tropez which we really loved. Back on the train we changed trains at Nice to get to Menton. We adored it in Menton. Going on to Milan was a nightmare due to a delayed train at Menton which almost miss our connection. Have a lovely trip.
