Hi,

What is the best way to get from budapest to Pula, Croatia? From searching on here it looks like there's a train to Zagreb, but is there a better way to get to Pula without going via Zagreb? If not, how much is the ticket from Buda to Zagreb, and how much / easy would a connection to Pula be?

Cheers!

the only can-do other ways are much longer and less straightforward-just look at any map. Certainly if you want train only.
IF you want, you can buy tickets all the way-thats one of the steadily getting more unknown wonders of European rail ticketing. BUT it wont be cheap. it is in fact cheaper to buy a RETURN BP-ZG first, as its cheaper as full-fare single.
Consider jst looking up the national railsites for more info on fares/prices-these also depend on route, age and more factors you did not thought were worthwhile to mention. In Hrvatska BUSes are often much better, faster and frequent as the slow trains-google for autobusni kolodvor (name place).

Hi.
Budapest to Zagreb, then to Rijeka. All schedules here: https://rail.cc/en
Or Budapest to Ljubljana and then to Pula.
Connections from to Pula: https://rail.cc/en/pula/train/c

Hi.
Budapest - Zagreb: https://rail.cc/en/train/budapest-to-zagreb
Just follow the blue shopping cart.. All options are shown: MAV, station, railcc
If you try MAV, you will also find offer with ticket pick-up in Budapest.
