Hi! The title didn't offer me enough text, so here's the full thing:
Rome - Venice - Budapest - Bratislava - Krakow - Prague - Berlin - Amsterdam.
Me and my buddy are flying to Rome the 18.th of July and will stay there till Sunday and then jump on the train. I would really like som feedback on the travel route, if I've overlooked some amazing places, and just some general tips. We haven't booked any trains yet, but bought the 10/22 pack from railcc.
City (Number of nights staying in city)
Rome (3)
Venice (2)
Budapest (3)
Bratislava (2)
Krakow (3)
Prague (3)
Berlin (2)
Amsterdam (3)
Wow, that seems like a lot of places now that I look at it. Anyway, here are the train connections I found using this site's tools. I hope they are correct. Some trains are marked yellow extra fees, yet I cannot see any? For examle the Krakow - Prague train.
Rome - Venice: https://rail.cc/en/interrail/rome-to-venice
Venice - Budapest: https://rail.cc/en/interrail/-to-
Budapest - Bratislava: https://rail.cc/en/interrail/-to-
Bratislava - Krakow: https://rail.cc/en/interrail/bratislava-to-krakow
Krakow - Prague: https://rail.cc/en/interrail/krakow-to-prague
Prague - Berlin: https://rail.cc/en/interrail/prague-to-berlin
Berlin - Amsterdam: https://rail.cc/en/interrail/berlin-to-amsterdam
Please give me some feedback if you can, never done this before and don't want to make any mistakes that I can avoid:)
I'll be looking for cheap hostels now, 'cos this will be expensive...

Hi.
Thank you for supporting railcc with your purchase! :)
I set your profile to premium now with the nice yellow bar. ;)
A nice route you selected...
And yes, the schedules are up to date - of course, as it is our job.
The Krakow-Prague train is a night train! You have to click the night train details in the schedule and you will find this information: https://rail.cc/en/interrail-night-train/krakow-prague-en-402/149
Just as thoughts: I personally don't like Venice - full of tourists and expensive. One night should be enough.
Think about crossing the border to Slovenia like this: https://rail.cc/blog/travel-lake-bled-train/
Then maybe Lake Bled in Slovenia, Ljubljana, Zagreb, Lake Balaton, Budapest...!?
And you won't need two nights in Bratislava... On your way to Amsterdam, you could stop in Hamburg or Cologne...
Peter :)

Wow, thanks for the quick reply!
I've read similar posts about Venice, all though that might also have been you:P Personally I don't want to stay too long in one city, and the route you described seems very scenic. I looked at the routes in that link, but it kind of made my head spin :os Here's what me and my buddy are thinking:
Venice - Ljubljana https://rail.cc/en/interrail/venice-to-ljubljana
Stay there one night.
Ljubljana - Zagreb https://rail.cc/en/interrail/ljubljana-to-zagreb
Stay in Zagreb one night also.
Finally Zagreb - Budapest: https://rail.cc/en/interrail/zagreb-to-budapest, and back on track (no pun intended).
One question about the night train: I'm at the site for booking, does the railpass give a discount (among the discount card options)?
Are there any other trains I should worry about - making reservations or booking?
And thanks for the yellow bar ;)

Hi.
Rome - Venice: you can travel for free. Or use IC trains (also free, but reservation recommended for EUR 3) or the high speed train (EUR 10). All reservations available at ticket machines in Italy. Use the option Global Pass. No need to pre-book long time in advance. https://rail.cc/en/interrail/rome-to-venice
Venice - Ljubljana: travel for free with your Interrail pass - https://rail.cc/en/interrail/venice-to-ljubljana
Ljubljana - Zagreb: free - https://rail.cc/en/interrail/ljubljana-to-zagreb
Zagreb - Budapest: free - https://rail.cc/en/interrail/zagreb-to-budapest
Budapest - Bratislava: free - https://rail.cc/en/interrail/budapest-to-bratislava
Bratislava - Krakow: reservation available for example already in Budapest or then in Bratislava station - https://rail.cc/en/interrail/bratislava-to-krakow
Krakow - Prague: I recommend a couchette in the night train. It is inexpensive and moire comfortable - buy it already in Budapest if possible - https://rail.cc/en/interrail-night-train/krakow-prague-en-402/149
You have to pay the prices you see at this link - prices depends on the category you book.
Prague - Berlin: free - https://rail.cc/en/interrail/prague-to-berlin
Berlin - Amsterdam: free - https://rail.cc/en/interrail/berlin-to-amsterdam
The only problem could be a full night train Krakow-Prague. But if you know it (as no reservations aren't available anymore at the station), just stay one more night in Budapest (or Prague) and use the day train: https://rail.cc/en/train/krakow-to-prague
So it is a relaxed trip you have.
Peter :)
