Hi!
With my friends (5 of us together) we would like to travel from Budapest to Koper on Tuesday, 30.07, and to be back in Budapest preferably 03.07, I see there is a night train according to the railcc search, but I cannot find ticket booking or even prices. Could you maybe help me out with this, please? :|

Hi!

We cannot sell ticket nor reservation via the system of our ticketing partner. The best way to get a ticket would be locally in Budapest as you will get good return offers. It probably will be more difficult to get the reservation though, as the train is likely to get full...are you going to some other place before you go to Budapest?

Thanks a lot!
We have a friend in Budapest who could eventually buy them for us. But we would only use the train one way and go back by bus from Trieste, as there is no train back on Friday night. Do you possibly know the price of train tickets for one way?

Hmm...there are no reductions on the one way fare on the Istra (the night train), so the fare should be 96,20€ per person plus reservation fees: https://rail.cc/en/interrail-night-train/budapest-koper-g1246-rg1605/278

A return would be much cheaper, 70,20€ per person.

You're welcome.

It is indeed a bit awkard to find other useful connections on that route...the only one I could think of now would be:
Budapest Keleti 0710 - 0956 Wien Meidling
Wien Meidling 1003 - 1233 Graz Hbf
Graz Hbf 1238 - 1330 Spielfeld-Straß
Spielfeld-Straß 1400 - 1420 Maribor
Maribor 1545 - 1738 Ljubljana
Ljubljana 1752 - 1959 Koper

But this is certainly not really worth the hassle... :|

We finally decided to go by a coach both ways:
Eurolines from Budapest to Trieste on Tuesday, 22:30
and back by Orangeways from Ljubljana on Friday, 15:00

This way we will see most places :) . Anyway, thank you a lot for your help!
