Hey there,
I have the 10 in 22 days pass and on the first day of the pass, i plan to take the overnight train from Paris to Rome which means i arrive in rome on the next day
Would that be okay?
Also, what are the best sites to use to figure out routes, stations, times..etc.? Are all the routes on plannerint.b-
I am going in a week and i feel completly lost here :(

Hi, as far as I know, according to another posting on this site, on the first day of travel it is not allowed to write the next day: you can leave 00:00 and after, but not 23:59 or before the night before. On the 2nd and subsequent days you can leave after 19:00 and still travel until 23.59 the next day. What I dont know, and I have asked this on this forum yesterday, is that having started a journey lets say 19:30 on 12 March, if you have to finish your trip on 13 March by 23.59, or if it is ok to board a train before 23.59 on 13 March and get off the same train in the morning of 14 March. Anyone know the answer to this one?

Hi,
I believe that Goingsolo is right, quite simply, you can write the next day on your pass is already valid and if your train departs on or after 1900 and then travel for the whole next day but not beyond. I believe that you cannot use one day's pass to travel, in effect, on 3 consecutive days. That would be too generous! Paris to Rome is a very long trip. You can do Paris to Nice in one night and then Nice to Rome. This breaks up a very long journey and Nice is nice.
For timetables, you can buy Thomas Cook's European Rail Timetable, from Cook's the travel agent, which has every timetable, and ferries, etc, you'll need. It's about 15 pounds or you can photocopy the parts you want in your library. it means you can plan all of your journeys while sitting on the beach or in a cafe instead of queueing in railway stations and speaking very poor Italian, French, etc. I also recommend taking overnight trains so that you don't waste days sitting on trains when you can be sightseeing, etc. Have great trip.

that's right...
on the first day of travel you can start at 00:00h in the night ... but not take a night train at 23:59h the day before !
this is only the case for the first day of travel.
on the following nights, you can use direct night trains after 19:00h in the evening an fill in the date of the following travel day. it counts then as only ONE travel day! :)
