Hello everyone.
Following situation: I am a Germany resident and would like to start my interrail from Paris. I plan to take the Thalys from Düsseldorf to Paris and for holders of the Global Pass it costs around 39 EUR. However, since I am a German resident, I don't know whether I am eligible to take that train ... it drives through Germany (although just for the first 30 minutes) and in theory, I can't use my Pass on domestic German trains, right? Could anyone help me please?

Hi.
We have a German language section of the forum as well ... just as note. :)
The Thalys train is always a bad choice for Interrail travellers.
You should be able to use the Thalys with the option Pass 2 - but get it confirmed from then: www.thalys.com/be/en/offers-and-fares/interrail
Then Düsseldorf to Paris is EUR 61 and you loose one of your travel days.
Maybe first check for special price tickets without Interrail: [ux]https://rail.shop/beurope[/ux]
Buy one of these special fare tickets and save the Interrail travel day - then start interrailing from Paris.
OR you travel to the German border and from there you use free trains - not the Thalys.
And please help us to help you with the information on railcc - buy your official Interrail pass on the recommended website: [ux]https://rail.shop/interrail[/ux] - as it is not fair to ask at railcc for support and buy somewhere else. Thank you!
Peter :)

Hi!
Thank you very much for your help! On the following page it says that a ticket from Düsseldorf costs 37 EUR (comfort 2, pass 1) www.thalys.com/de/en/offers-and-fares/interrail
A bit further down it says PASS GIVING ACCESS TO THE PASS 1 FARE and it lists InterRail Global Pass. Could it be that they make an exclusion for the Thalys to Paris from Düsseldorf?
Of course I will book the tickets through your website, as this is a massive help! Thanks a lot for this great project :)

And also: If I want to book over railcc, how do I select the comfort 2, pass 2 ticket? I can only see a ticket for 47 EUR, which is probably the 37 EUR ticket + interest of railcc ...

Hi!
I think you are doing fine with a Global Pass and can buy a Pass1 ticket, even though your country of residence is Germany.
The interest gets to ACP Rail who are doing the reservations, railcc does not earn a bit through the online reservations.
