Has anyone travelled by the night train from Belgrade to Sofia lately? I will be travelling this route at the end of June and I'm wondering if there was any problem booking a couchette only one day in advance? My ticket is already purchased, just not a reservation for a bed.

Shouldnt be a problem. I travelled in February [u]https://rail.cc/blog/bucharest-sofia-istanbul-train/[/u] and there was just a handful of travellers on the couchette car.
The train consists of a seated coach plus a couchette or sleepin car, depending on what is available. According to current reports it is still no problem to get reservations at short notice.
