Hi Guys
I'm trying to book a reservation for the following night train (Paris - Berlin)
https://rail.cc/en/interrail-night-train/paris-berlin-cnl451-455/18
However, I can't make a reservation from Paris because the DB Bahn site only allows reservations originating in Germany. So how do I make the reservation from Paris Est to Saarbrücken so that I can use the whole of this train connection?!
Hope this makes sense, thanks! :) x

Hi,
use the following link for purchasing from DB in the future: [ux]https://rail.shop/bahn[/ux]
It is no problem to get a reservation online for Paris - Berlin, if you follow the instructions on the bottom of the page you linked in your post.
Please purchase your IR tickets in our partner to help us helping you. Free delivery to the UK. Thank you. :)

Thankyou, but I have tried it.
1. The train listed does not appear in the list of train times on DB Bahn
2. The Book only extra charge does not appear
Am i doing something wrong? Perhaps you could try it yourself an see if it works? :'(

Hi.
Like Flow wrote: do it EXACTLY like explained bellow the map here - https://rail.cc/en/interrail-night-train/paris-berlin-cnl451-455/18
Then it works! :)
Which date do you want to travel?
And please help us to help you with the information on railcc - buy your official Interrail pass via our partner link [ux]https://rail.shop/interrail[/ux]
As it is not fair to ask at railcc for support and buy somewhere else. Thank you!
Peter :)

I'm trying to travel on 10/7/2013.
I've just tried it again for the third time following the instructions exactly as written and I'm still getting the same problem.
The 2005h train from Paris Est doesn't even appear on the list:
LINK TIMED OUT
I'm certain I'm doing everything thats written on the list, but I can even find the right train, let alone the correct reservations button! :'(

The train is there, but it leaves at 1844 already. And the reservation works.
This is due to construction works - and we cannot show all alterations of schedules due to construction works. ;)
BTW, enter Berlin Hbf as destination instead of Berlin Südkreuz if you want to go to the city centre.

OH NO :((
I have just booked my reservations and realised something....
Because the new times (due to the maintenance) are 1844h to 0916h does this mean that with the 1900h rule, because of that extra 16 mins in Paris I'm using 2 of my 10 days flexi trave instead of just onel!!?? :'(

Thanks! :)
I will enquire about that issue with the 1900-rule.

I have also emailed InterRail directly to ask about this problem, so will let you know of any developments if I hear anything :|

CNL just told me that they dont decide that and I should inquir at InterRail/Eurail directly (which I find a bit stange tbh); anyway since you already contacted them lets see what they will tell you. :os
Hello Calum,
Thank you for your email. That is a good question. With the 7pm rule you effectively will receive 5 hours of travel for free but only if you travel on a direct overnight train that departs after 7pm and arrives at its final destination after 4am. If your train is not scheduled to depart until 18.44 then I recommend you purchase a point to point ticket from Paris to the first station you reach after 19.00. Then you can use your Pass and only use one travel day for this night trip.
I hope this answers your question and helps with your travel planning
Best regards,
Eva

I suppose this is an option, but the next stop isn't until 0100h so it might be quite an expensive point to point ticket. I might just bite the bullet and use up two days in one go..

I am quite disappointed by both answers: CNL is not taking any responsibility and just forwards you to Eurail Group; and they obviously do not really care, let alone understand the issue by just explaining the rule for you. :P
I fear there wont be an alternative than to just use two travel days; Paris - Saarbrücken is 57,60€ regular international tariff. :|
