hi!
I was about to order a TGV ticket from Paris to Marseille the 19th of June. I'm leaving in 3 days, so getting the ticket by mail is not an option.
I couldnt find any option on the railcc booking system to get the ticket by email. Is this possible? Do i even have to order this TGV ticket? :|
Regards,
Åsmund :)

Hej!
Are you looking to get a reservation for an InterRail ticket or do you want to purchase a regular train ticket?
If the latter is the case use this link: rail.shop/sncf
Reservations from the railcc booking system can only be sent by mail; if you need a reservation for your IR tickt you will have to get it at a Railway station. I am not quite sure if it is possible at a NSB station but certainly worth a try; otherwise do so at a station during your trip.

Wait,
Yes, we are only looking to make an Interrail Pass reservation. We dont have time to wait for tickets to be mailed. But you are saying that it is possible to buy this reservation AT the train station prior to the trains departure?

Yeah, this is the standard procedure to get reservations. Online reservation systems are not very advanced yet and often come with limitations (such as paper ticket only or limited to certain routes/countries).
In theory you can make reservations until a certain limit prior to departure, this can be a few hours or one day and depends on country and type of train. In France however, SNCF (the train company) has limited reservations available for InterRail pass holders which means that on every train only a certain amount of reservations is available for the standard price of 6€. If this contingent is sold, they start to sell reservations for 18€ (or you buy them for this price on board)... :((
This system even applies if enough places on the train are left...so for travel in France it is often better to get the reservation in advance. Reservations can also be bought at stations abroad, not only within the country where the train runs.

I am travelling with Skatty here :)
So you may agree that the best strategy for us is to try to book reservations on the TGV in f.ex. Holland (3 days earlier)? Where can we find information about time-limits for reservations? It's a jungle out there...
Thanks for your help :)

Yeah, well not necessarily in the Netherlands, as NS Hispeed charges a booking plus a credit card fee (total of ~10€) when you make reservations at their offices at stations in NL but for instance in Germany, Belgium, France...
Dont worry about pre booking times. If you show up on the day, and reservations are still available, you will get your reservations, if you do it for instance one day in advance - no worries.
