Hi all

I really don't seem to be having much luck with booking night trains at the moment.

I've been trying to book the City night line train from Amsterdam - Prague on the 10th August this year. I've been trying via the DB Bahn website [ux]https://rail.shop/bahn[/ux]

However every time I've tried to book the website has stated there's an error. I knew this wasn't my credit card as I used the same one to book another night train from Berlin to Zurich. After many failed attempts I rang up and tried to book it via their UK booking office and was told it was blocked at the moment. So I rang up again and tried a week later same again unable to book. I asked what the problem was and they said something about engineering works??!!!

I've tried many times again since then and think I'm going to have to maybe miss Prague out now as it kinda messes my plans up a bit.

Has anyone managed to book this train for August or the summer? Or has anyone had their problem before, or knows why and can enlighten me to this?

Thanks in advance.

Maz

Hi Maz!

I hope you use thehttps://rail.shop/bahnlink to support railcc. :)

Are you trying to make a reservation for your InterRail trip or booking an actual ticket?
For a reservation, you have to get a Amsterdam - Bad Schandau reservation, as at least departure or arrival station have to be in Germany to allow online reservation booking. It should be all explained here: https://rail.cc/en/interrail-night-train/amsterdam-prague-cnl457/15

If you want a regular ticket I dont know what is the issue. I can start the booking process for the train on 10 August without problems on [ux]https://rail.shop/bahn[/ux] although I didnt want to proceed all the way to the checkout as I dont want a ticket myself. ;)

Hi again Flo,

I've been trying to book a full priced ticket (well was a special price as I was getting it earlier!) as I don't want my pass to start so early so the origin or destination station didn't need to be in Germany.

The website allowed me to get to the page where I was about to book and when I check the details and go to book them it comes up with a message saying something like error can't book this night train.
This has been going on for weeks now random!!

Ha ha yes I was trying through railcc and I've already purchased the Berlin to Zurich one through there also. When I finally get my passes they will support you guys too!!

Yea I have no idea what the issue could be that really confused me stating engineering works.

Cheers

Hi Maz...
Maybe it is a problem due to the change in the schedules - which normally shouldn't be a problem for the booking of this train. But you never know.
So try again on Monday ... as I don't have an other idea why it is not working for now ...

Hi all,

Thanks again for your help.

I'll tried again today a couple of times and I've tried on book DB Bahn and Raileur*pe and strangely they both show different times for the same train. DB is showing 17.41 to get in at 9.26 and raileur*pe shows 19.01 still to get in at 9.26.

I'll leave this again for a few more days as it could be due to the changeover of scheduling etc.

I'm just a little worried as I've been trying to get these tickets for weeks now!

I've booked an extra night in Berlin in case I am not able to get it but I really would like to be able to go to Prague.

I really do not have much luck with night trains right now!! lol

Hi.
Trust DBahnhttps://plan.rail.cc ! The other company you mentioned is NOT the source for this train.
Peter :)
