Hi!
We're planing to travel from Paris to Mont St. Michel, so we'll take the train from Paris to Rennes.
From Rennes our next step should be Barcelona... but I can't find any train for this...
We would also make a stop in a city between these two cities and stay there for a night, if its not possible otherwise.
Can you suggest us some trains? We rather drive longer than pay an extra fee. ||

Hej!
St Malo/Rennes to Barcelona within one day is only possible via Paris and with the use of several TGV/Alvia connections that require extra reservations (total ~18€).
I would recommend to travel along the coast via Rennes - Nantes - La Rochelle to Bordeaux. Then either stay in Bordeaux or continue to Arcachon and the Dune de Pyla. This is all possible without extra reservations.
From Bordeaux, I would recommend to travel to Hendaye via Biarritz, then across the border to Irún and then with an Alvia train (6,50€ reservation) to Barcelona. If you want, you could also continue beyond Irún to San Sebastian and tae the Alvia from there after a short visit to the city.
You could also travel from Bordeaux via Toulouse - Narbonne - Perpignan - Cerbère - Portbou - Girona to Barcelona; on this route I would recommend to get a reservation (6€) for either a TGV or Intercités from Bordeaux to Narbonne, then continue with regional trains. It should be possible also to travel Bordeaux - Narbonne with regional trains however this can be quite a slow and long trip.
Maybe you also want to think about going from Toulouse to Latour de Carol, then to Barcelona, this would be possible with regional trains only; or take the Petit Train Jaune from Latour de Carol down to Villefranche, then again via Perpignan - Girona to Barcelona. This option would require an additional overnight stop along the route however.
