Hey guys

Had some problems whilst in germany , which led me to go into hospital to get it checked out. I have now had to change all my night trains to compensate what the doctor said - not having my feet on the ground for the majority of the day. I'm just wondering what's the best way to reserve the last train from Milan to rome , whilst on the road? I'm able to book it on railcc but I guess if I continue till send it to my house? I'm currently in Amsterdam today, Paris for a few days and the train to Rome is needed on the 27th - any ideas?

Thank you!

Hey,

hope you are alright now. :)
Dont get the reservation in Amsterdam (or NL in general, there are high extra fees); you can for instance try to get it at an international ticket counter in Belgium, for instance in Antwerpen or Bruxelles, depending on your route.
:!: You could contact railcc member Alcolin who works at Bruxelles Midi. :)
It should be possible in Paris as well; what is your planned route onwards to Milano?

You can also get it online at the Trenitalia website and pick it up at a ticket machine in Italy. Use the Global Pass option to get the reservation for InterRail.

The Bernina, Flo... As you suggested.

Thank you for all your help...

I had a night train out of Rome to vienna , the Vienna in the morning to Budapest. Do you have an alternative route? Something later evening, getting as far as I can and stopping for the night, before getting to Budapest the following day.... Don't want to pull too much time away from Rome.

Oh yeah, of course...well I would go with the online option at Trenitalia website then.

The latest train from Rome that may make sense for you is the night train to Trieste: https://rail.cc/en/interrail-night-train/rome-trieste-icn-774-775/244
If you leave the train at Gorizia and cross the border as explained here https://rail.cc/blog/travel-lake-bled-train/ you could go to Ljubljana, then Vienna the same day, stay overnight and go to Budapest the following day.
However, I dont think this is practical, as the connection with the night train Rome - Vienna, then onwards to Budapest definitely is the fastest option.

Thank you - I'm not sure I see the global pass option?

Go to Trenitalia.com and select english language, then enter Milano Centrale and Roma Tiburtina select date and time and click confirm > on the next page select your train and you will get to the next page > now you can choose the type of accomodation in the service folder and the Global Pass option in the offer folder > continue and proceed to payment

Nope:/ its only letting me buy the ticket, not the reservation... Might be best to wait til tomorrow when I'm in Antwerp?

Type of accommodation? This is for a evening, not a night train.

Well I thought you wanted to do this overnight, as in the heading... :D

Anyway, the method works for day trains as well of course.
