Help! Can anyone give me some advice?
I have bought my interrail passes and booked the first third and last third of my trip around Europe. The part I am struggling to organise is the part between Nice and Munich. Our plan was to make our way between these two destinations over a period of six days, seeing some of Italy along the way. However, no matter what part of the trip I check on various train booking sites, I can't seem to make my way from Nice to Munich.
I am leaving Nice on Sunday 21st of July and need to be in Munich for a night train at 23.00 on Friday 26th July.
Can anyone suggest a route that works? I would like to avoid reservations if possible as the rest of my holiday is full of them. I did try booking reservations from Milan to Munich, Trento to Munich, Milan to Zurich but to no avail.
Please help if you can, thanks.

Hi.
So I hope you purchased your Interrail pass at railcc to support all the information and as well this answer. Thank you! :) Otherwise you should contact the company where you got your Interrail passes for assistance - as they earned the money from you and are responsible for your support, not railcc. ;)
Example route for your travel:
Nice via Ventimiglia to Milano: https://rail.cc/en/interrail/nice-to-milan
If you want to travel for free - but an absolutely scenic route, use the one with departure at 10:25h.
Stay overnight in Milan.
Then Milano to Zurich: and again - travel for free but have the absolutely scenic route crossing the Alps - one of the most interesting routes you can travel for free!! :)
https://rail.cc/en/interrail/milan-to-zurich
Zurich to Munich is also for free: https://rail.cc/en/interrail/zurich-to-munich
If you want, let me know the rest of your route, to save your money paying reservations on routes which you can travel for free. :)

Hi PEter,
You are my hero! Thank you so much for your help with this. I'm afraid we did not know about railcc when we bought our interrail tickets but we have booked all of our reservations through your site since we found out about it :)
Can I just ask:
Do I need to book trains for the suggested routes you have given me (teh scenic ones)?
Would it be okay just to turn up at these stations on the day and jump on the train?
Is it only where I see a yellow arrow that I would need to change trains?
I do wish I had come to this forum before booking all of my reservations. I will know to come to railcc first the next time I book my European tour.

Please see my last reply (also meant to add this)
We are travelling from Nice to Milan on the Sunday - is rail travel still as frequent on a Sunday?
Also, is it easy to jump on and off trains from and to Milan/Allessandria?

Hi.
Okay - no worries ... for railcc it is important that the users of these information also buy their official tickets here, to keep the servers running. Next time. ;)
As with reservations no one earns some money - it is extra service with a lot of extra work.
The routes I gave you are FREE like mentioned. Also just check the links, there is written free. :)
Yellow means: change the train.
Just turn up and sit in the train - very easy. :)
The trains with the number 7 (=Sunday, see bellow the departure/arrival times) run on Sunday:
