Hi everyone!

I am long time user of Eurail passes. My first trip was in 1998 with a 2 month unlimited one and after that it has been a part of my many trips to Europe.

This time I am traveling with family and we're all going to Spain. I have purchased online a Spain pass for 3 days and I plan to use it for traveling on AVE (Barcelona - Madrid, Madrid - Seville, etc). I will be arriving in Barcelona and leaving from Madrid.

I have read on eurail's site that a EUR 10 seat reservation is required for using it and I have the following questions:

1) I know you need to validate the pass, right? Can you do that at El Prat airport in BCN or do you have to do so at Barcelona's major stations such as Sants or França?
2) Is there a specific place at Sants station, the station where AVE departs, where to get this supplement or seat reservation? Do you need to show your pass?
3) Can you get reservations for other trips? ie: reservation for Madrid-Cordoba
4) Upon arriving in Madrid, can you use your Eurail pass with Cercanias lines without any further cost?

That'll be all, thanks a lot!

Hi!

1) I dont know if there is a ticket office at Aeroport station (I doubt it) so you probably will have to activate the pass either at Sants or Franca.
2) At the regular ticket office. There are ticket offices for immediate departure on the day and others for future travels, make sure to choose the correct line.
3) Yes.
4) Yes, Eurail is valid on all Cercanias/Rodalies services however you might have to get a ticket free of charge to be able to pass the ticket barriers.

Hopefully you have purchased your tickets in our online shop to support our work, thank you. ;)

Hi thank you very much for your prompt and efficient reply.
Well, I guess I'll have to Sants then to do all my reservation there.

Nope, :( unfortunately I have discovered this site on Friday and had my tickets bought from before that. :os Had I know this site earlier, I would have certainly bought my passes here.
