I'm preparing for my first interrailtrip in july/august this year and I can't wait!
I figured out which trains I have to take and where I am going to stay.
I am very curious if anyone has made this trip (or a part of it) and if he/she has any
tips or advice for me (for the train part)?
It would also be great to hear which parts of these city I really should visit!

Thanks in advance :D

Hej!

We have collected many example connections throughout Europe including extra fees payable for InterRailers, have a look here: https://rail.cc/en/search-interrail-route

Paris - Nice: Either by direct night train or TGV; both require a 6€ reservation for a seat. Attention, these are limited, if sold out a reservation is 18€, so book early. If you want to travel during the day and dont get a seat on a TGV to Nice, try to get a seat on a TGV to Marseille or Toulon and continue from there with TER (regional trains) that do not require a reservation.

Nice - Rome: Quite a long trip if you do it in one go, but the route along the Mediterranean coast is really nice! :) You could think about a stop along the way, for instance at Cinque Terre, Pisa/Lucca or even Firenze or Siena.

Rome - Venice: Hourly Frecciargento trains with 10€ reservation or slower and less frequent IC trains available for which a 3€ reservation is recommended. You might think about a stopover in Florence.

Venice - Vienna: Either by direct night train or with IC Bus to Villach, then train to Vienna. Night train and IC Bus both require a 9€ seat reservation; there is one daily connection available without compulsory reservation; check at the train connections link above.

Vienna - Prague and Prague - Berlin: Frequent direct EC trains, no reservation required.
