I am planning to travel via train in June/July as follows:

Vienna or Munich to Vevey, Switzerland - on July 4 or 5
Vevey to Paris - July 9 or 10
Paris to London - Eurostar - July 15 or 16
All one way tickets and staying with friends in above locations

I am English but resident in Australia ( 30 yrs) so understand I need an EURAIL pass?......do these come in various prices according to length of travel?
Does EURAIL cover train travel in France and UK by either regular train and TGV?
Is it cheaper to buy an EURAIL pass to cover roughly two weeks or buy tickets from point to point?
Do I need to buy/book in advance at this stage and if how much cheaper is it to book tickets in advance?
Could you also let me know how to find out the length of travel time/train availability in Germany/Switzerland/France?
thank you very much! :|

thanks
Ange

You are planning to travel on 3 days, right? The cheapest Eurail ticket is 10 days of travel within 2 months, and the price is 891 $. As you are planning to take the Eurostar from Paris to London, there is only a small discount for Interrail/Eurail. So you will be better off with point to point tickets. But if you want to extend your tour and see more nice places, getting a Eurail ticket would be a good idea. The trip from Paris to London could also be done by regular trains and the ferry from Calais to Dover. Takes more time, but is cheaper, and more to see on the ferry, than in the tunnel ;)

Hi Ange.
I think the same way like Tom already said: Interrail/Eurail isn't worth for this tour.
Here as well the answers to your questions concerning Eurail: [ux]https://rail.cc/en/first-time-eurail[/u]

Book point to point tickets here:

Vienna - Munich: [ux]https://rail.shop/bahn[/ux] or rail.shop/oebb

Munich - Lausanne: [ux]https://rail.shop/bahn[/ux]
Then Lausanne - Vevey: rail.shop/sbb

Vevey - Lausanne: rail.shop/sbb
Then Lausanne - Paris: [ux]https://rail.shop/sncf[/ux]

Paris - London: [ux]https://rail.shop/beurope[/ux]

As earlier you book, as cheaper the prices are.
Peter :)
