Hello everyone!
My name is Marlies and i am a adventurous, sweet, blonde, Dutch girl. I am 21 years old. I am going to do an interrail trip(5 in 10days) in 2 weeks. It is my second interrail trip. Last year, I did an interrail trip through (South) East-Europe with a friend. This time i will be traveling alone. It will be first time for my to do a round trip.
This is my travel plan:
- Utrecht(NL) - Paris
- Paris - Saumur (visit a friend)
- Saumur - Toulouse (change at Bordeaux) I have to 15 minutes to transfer between trains is this enough?
- Toulouse - Montpellier
- Montpellier - Nice
- Nice - Milan
I will fly back from Milan to the Netherlands
I have some questions about the safety for a woman, who travels alone.
I have been reading some scary things about the Central Station in Milan and Montmartre at night.
I have booked a bus ticket(Eurolines) to Paris (Gallieni). I will arrive there at 7PM. I have to go to rue Ramey (Montmartre). Is it safe at that time to go to my accommodation in Montmartre?
My next question is about Central station in Milan. I'm going to be arriving around 9 PM at night and i have to go the Ostello Bello hostel located at Via Medici. I am considering to leave earlier from Nice, so i would be in Milan for its gets dark. Or an option is to take a taxi when I arrive at 9pm.
I have already a reservation for Ventimiglia to Milan Centrale, but i can make a new reservation at Ventimiglia train station? I have already paid 1.50euro for the reservation, so it is not a problem to make a new reservation.
Can you give me some (safety) tips and or adivce about my interrail trip.
Thankyou!
Marlies

Hej Marlies!
What is the exact adress of your accomodation in Paris? In my opinion you do not have to worry for safety at this time of the evening but I'd like to look for the best connection from Gallieni for you.
Have you yet planned how to travel from city to city? Do you want to save on reservation costs? It might be more convenient to use TGV or Intercités with compulsory reservation in France for some parts of the trip but you can try to avoid these as well.
What connection have you planned to get from Saumur to Toulouse? 15 minutes at Bordeaux are easily enough as long as the incoming train is not delayed too much.
What kind of reservation do you have for Ventimiglia - Milano? Where did you get it for 1,50€?
Milano Centrale has been recently refurbished and I would not worry at 9pm...Via Medici is in the centre and easily reachable by public transport (tramway stop just a few metres away) so I would save the money for a taxi. :)

Hi Flow! Thankyou for the information! :D
The adress of my accommodation in Paris is 62 rue Ramey. I have already booked all the reservations for the trains.
This is my travelroute from Saumur to Toulouse: St – Pierre – des – Corps 9.49u TGV 8407 – Bordeaux 12.32u
Bordeaux St-Jean 12.47u – Toulouse Matabiau 14.57u TGV 8503
From Ventimiglia to Milan i have a reservation for 3euro (IC).
I think i will take the metro to the hostel in Milan and safe money for a taxi.

OK, then dont worry. ;)
From Gallieni, take metro 3 (direction Pont de Levallois - Bécon) until Saint-Lazare and change there to metro 13 (direction Front Populaire) until Jules Joffrin, from where it is just a few metres to your destination. :)
There would be other connections available too but would require extra changes at a bit shadier stations so I would take this route.
Your route to Toulouse looks fine, as long as the TGV is on time in Bordeaux no problem to change trains.
OK, 3€ is the standard price for Italian IC trains, that's why I was asking. ;)
