Hi
What do you think is the best route to travel by train from Berlin to Varenna. Can leave Berlin on either Wed 22 or Thur 23 May.. to either do in one massive hit, or have a more leisurely journey and stopover .. in Switzerland I thought, as keen to do the Berlina route to Tirano on way to Lake Como.

Alternatively, could go any route from Berlin... and do the Berlina as a day trip from Varenna on Lake Como where we are staying.

Your ideas very welcome.
Thanks

Hi,
for example you can use the night train from Berlin to Zurich: https://rail.cc/en/night-train/berlin-zurich-cnl-471/21 It runs at 22nd and the 23rd of May :) Then you'll be in Zurich round about 9:30 am. I think from there you can perfectly do the Bernina route.

Hi!

Have you any other trips planned? Are you using a Rail Pass (Eurail)?

You can get single Europa Spezial tickets from Deutsche Bahn. Use this link [ux]https://rail.shop/bahn[/ux] to directly support railcc with your purchase - same prices for you! :)
You can get a Europa Spezial until St Moritz, then by regular ticket to Tirano (Bernina Railway) :arr: https://rail.cc/blog/zurich-milano-albula-bernina/ and on to Varenna.
