I'm here again with my stupid questions...

We depart Copenhagen 2.5. 18:46 o'clock and arrive Amsterdam 3.5. 9:59 if if checked RaiDude Train Connections right. From Amsterdam we should get to Gent (I have an hotel there 3.-5.5.). As far as I checked we have to travel Thalys trains and that's too expencive... Any help? :D

Hi.
Never use the Thalys as Interrail - as you know already. :)
Use this connection, free of extra fees. Just enter the train and sit down. I think it is as well a good time to travel.

Amsterdam Centraal dep: 1029 - IC train - free
Rotterdam Centraal arr: 1138

Rotterdam Centraal dep: 1155 - IC train - free
Antwerpen Centraal arr: 1301

Antwerpen Centraal dep: 1318 - IC train - free
Gent St Pieters arr: 1413

Peter :)

Yeah, this is the night train: :arr: https://rail.cc/en/train/copenhagen-to-amsterdam
As we noted there, please check again the timings for the day of your travel with a schedule planner: :arr: https://rail.cc/en/search-interrail-route
We cannot include possible alterations of schedules due to maintenance works etc that might occur, hence you should always double check with a schedule planner.
But the actual timings also should be written on your reservation for the night train. ;)

From Amsterdam to Gent:
:arr: https://rail.cc/en/train/amsterdam-to-brussels
To get to Gent, change at Antwerpen or Brussels. I would recommend to change at Antwerpen and have a quick look around the station which is really impressive! :)
So: https://rail.cc/en/train/-to-
This connection runs every two hours; from Antwerpen trains to Gent depart at 18 and 52 after each hour, travel time ~1 hour.

Thank you guys, you are amazing!

The connection that flow linked here, from Amsterdam to Antwerpen (or Brussels), isn't those Thalys trains? Peters route seems like more complicated with this extra train changing but there's no suppements and other fees..

You're welcome! :)

This route is without Thalys trains - just hop on and take a seat! :arr: https://rail.cc/en/train/-to-

It is basically the same as the one Peter posted, only difference: You change in Den Haag on my route and in Rotterdam on Peters route. The trains are the same! ;)

...what an idiot I've been when searching these connections. I just looked that this Amsterdam-Brussels train leaves too early. It runs every two hours, not once, at 8:29... :(( Wish me luck!, I think we're gonna wander a lot. Only a week left and then I should be ready with my plans. 8)

But, thank you again. (and a doting smiley)

I'm going to have to apologize on behalf of my country to you for that. The Dutch Railway came with the great idea building an high speed connection to Bruxelles and Paris. Due to the crisis the cheapest trains were chosen. Here's the thing were it gets painful. After a month and a half, the high speed Fyra trains were starting to show major breakdowns. Therefore all the high speed services are suspended until further notice.

The alternative is taking an domestic Fyra from Amsterdam to Rotterdam (Fyra to Breda, no fee for international travelers. Train runs every half hour 10:25, 10:55, 11:25 etc from Platform 15a). From Rotterdam there's a train to Antwerpen, but this train only runs every two hours; 7:55, 9:55, 11:55, 13:55, 15:55, 17:55 etc from platform 3.

In case you mis the train to Antwerpen in Rotterdam, you can always the intercity from Rotterdam to Roosendaal (every half hour 10:10, 10:40, 11:10 etc from platform 7) There's a local train from Roosendaal to Antwerpen which runs every hour 10:22, 11:22, 12:22 etc from platform 3a. The local train takes a bit longer than the intercity but might be more pleasant than two hours of waiting.

Hope this helps.

^ Thanks a lot! :) I'm sure we'll get there somehow with these routes, maybe I'll take Rotterdam or Den Haag when we leave Amsterdam and try this Fyra when we depart Gent. :)

Excellent! Thanks again :) We are now in Copenhagen, tomorrow evening we'll take Copenhagen-Amsterdam night train and then the next day I've scheduled for traveling from Amsterdam to Gent. :D

This is my first interrail, and I already love this. I started a blog about our trip, theme is Interrail with small child, I can share a link when we arrive home and I write those texts in english also if you like to read :) By the way if you know some good sites about railing with smaller children, let me know.

In Finland spring is badly late this year and it was awesome to come to Copenhagen now when here is already green grass, flowers ang stuff. And I think this gets even better when we travel to southern Europe.

Our travel day today was such a mess... :D But I did it and there was no big problems. First the Copenhagen-Amsterdam night train was late and I missed first train to Antwerpen. Change in Roosendaal was such a hurry with child. I had made decicion not to check the Antwerpen station to get Gent earlier, but our train was minutes late and so I missed Gent train. That was a lucky one :D because Antwerpen Centraal really was amazing! I spend there about 40minutes and it felt like ten!

I have to say that Gent is amazing, in this city is near everything I would even dream of.

I'm not any Blogger, I'm just keeping diary in the internet so my friends can keep in touch. But like I said after the interrail I'll try to collevt there anything you shoukd know when traveling with children. The address is reilillalapsenkanssa.blogspot.com :) It's now only in finnish but I'll transate it later..

Runs the train traffic to Ghent according the usual timetable because of the accident with the freight train at Wetteren a few dags ago? I'm leaving tomorrow in the early morning to Ghent from Rotterdam Centraal.
