Hello railcc! I know the topic is a pretty unprecise question, hehe, but i was wondering how you guys find local restaurants that are affordable on a budget, and if it's possible to cook your own meals on some of the hostels around Europe? :)
I've been wondering if it was possible to eat dinner for 10-15€? :) I know it depends on the country, city etc. but what's your experience?:-)

Just ask the locals, where you can have good local food for an affordable price. Restaurants where they would go themselves. Avoid restaurants in typical tourist areas.
I know, that many hostels do offer kitchens, where you can use their equipment, or even use your own gas stove.
I think, it should be possible to get food for 10-15€ per day, if you are not a gourmet, or in need of special food..

I often use the kitchens in hostels. And buy the food in a supermarket or some vegetables on a normal market.
If it is a smaller hostel, ask the staff working there for nice and cheap restaurants. :)

Thanks for the answers, I think we'll switch between cooking and going out, trying some cheaper local restaurants and ask the staff about where they'd go themselves :) thanks again!
