Hi all,

I'm trying to find a train that will take me from Vienna to Budapest. I notice that there are no Interail connections between the two cities though.

Can any body provide any advice?

Thanks.

Hi.

:arr: Venice to Budapest: https://rail.cc/en/train/venice-to-budapest

The best option is to travel by night train from Venice to Vienna and then to Budapest.
You could of course first travel to Slovenia (Lake Bled) and then to Budapest: https://rail.cc/blog/travel-lake-bled-train/

Thanks for your reply.

However, when looking at a reservation from Salzburg to Budapest Keleti departing 04:34 and arriving 10:49 on 8 June 2013, there isn't an option to reserve tickets- it states No product available. Do you know why this is?

Hi.
Use the connection leaving at 2057, arriving in Budapest at 1249 - otherwise you have to change the train in the middle of the night. Then you don't need a reservation for the second part from Vienna to Budapest.
NOT ALL trains are available for online reservation - if a railway company doesn't offer it, we can not include it in the system. :|
So if you want to have a reservation for the night train in the second part with change in Salzburg, then you have to buy it as well in Venice (or somewhere else before at a railway station) - it is not possible to buy it online.
By the way: if you want to support the information here on railcc, buy your official Interrail pass via our partner link [ux]https://rail.shop/interrail[/ux]
