Hi everyone. Me and a friend are organising our first interrailing experience and have almost everything sorted. I just had a question about reservations for night trains.
We want to get a couchette for a night train from Vienna to Krakow on 9th July and Krakow to Prague on 12th July. I know it's a bit of a silly route but Krakow was a last minute addition and we figured with these night trains it'd work out quite well. However, I've gone through many links and accessed the sites of both train companies but cannot seem to find anywhere to reserve these trips.
Just wondering if these are in fact reservable this early? If not, do you think it would be okay to arrange on the day/a couple days before at the train stations themselves?
Here are the trains we are looking at:
Vienna - Krakow

Krakow - Prague

Would appreciate any help. Thanks!

Hi,
both ÖBB and PKP do not offer reservations only on the web. What you can try: The railcc reservation system :arr: [ux]https://rail.shop/acprail/reservation[/ux] (note that prices might be more expensive due to handling fees) or the online shop of CD (Czech Railways) :arr: rail.shop/cd
However, it should be sufficient if you get these reservation during your trip, if possible a few days in advance. What is your planned route?

Thank you for your help! Looked on both of those websites and can't find them able to reserve so looks like we'll just do it a couple of days before. We're staying 2 nights in both Vienna and Krakow so fingers crossed that will be enough time in advance to reserve a space. Do you think it would be okay to do it a couple nights before and, if not, is there any other way of doing it e.g. at another station or calling them up?
Our route is
Rome - Florence - Venice - Ljubljana - Zagreb - Budapest - Vienna - Krakow - Prague
We know it's a bit illogical going to Krakow between Vienna and Prague but like I said it was a last minute decision and we can (hopefully) sleep through the travelling!
We've got our ticket, flights and hostels all sorted now - can't wait to go :D

Hi.
You should definitely get the reservations in Budapest Keleti station (the one where you will arrive from Zagreb).
I am sure you will get one - no worries! :)
In case you won't get one (but this won't happen!), you could still use a day train.
Vienna-Krakow: https://rail.cc/en/train/vienna-to-krakow
Krakow-Prague: https://rail.cc/en/train/krakow-to-prague
Venice to Ljubljana cross the border like this: https://rail.cc/blog/travel-lake-bled-train/
And think about a stop at Lake Bled: https://rail.cc/en/bled/c
I hope this information will help you - and if you want to help railcc and support all the information here, buy your official Interrail pass via our partner link [ux]https://rail.shop/interrail[/ux]
Thank you! :)

That's reassuring, thank you! Yeah I've heard great things about Lake Bled we'll definitely take a day trip there when we're in Ljubljana.
Thanks for all the information, really appreciate it :)

A one-way ticket Ljubljana-Bled is EUR 4,35 for under 26 years old - and EUR 6,30 for persons 26 and older.
Only as note if you don't want to spent a travel day for this trip.
You usually pass as well Bled when traveling Venice to Ljubljana. :)
