We are travelling from Barcelona to Paris and have planned it as an overnight trip, but were wondering if there were any alternate routes as the night train is expensive and one of us won't have an interrail pass.
I've seen something about a train from Port Bou to Paris, but was wondering if this is still running and are there certain days it runs on?
Thanks! :)

Hi.
Just have a look on the railcc schedules here:
https://rail.cc/en/night-train/latour-de-carol-paris-icn-3970/75
Buy here (normal ticket starting from EUR 32 if you book early): [ux]https://rail.shop/sncf[/ux]
And for your Interrail passes: if you want to support the information here on railcc, buy your official Interrail passes via our partner link [ux]https://rail.shop/interrail[/ux]
Thank you! :)

Thankyou! That's really helpful :)
Just wondering, if my friend without the pass books the night train from Latour-de-Carol now, and the rest of us with interrail passes have to reserve later, will we be put in separate carriages?

Yes. You will be in different compartments, maybe even in different cars. :|
There is no option to avoid this. The only way is to have someone with you in the same compartment, also traveling Latour to Paris - and you just exchange the reservations (your friend - and the other traveller).
Is your friend only traveling Barcelona to Paris or also some other legs with you? :)

She's just travelling that leg of the journey. We won't be able to reserve until a few days before I think. Thank you for the help though, we'll definitely take that train :)

And if you want to include the scenic Petit Train Jaune (Little Yellow Train), you can go don the mountains from Latour de Carol to Perpignan (https://rail.cc/en/night-train/cerbere-paris-icn-3730/77). But it would be more expensive for your friends as for the additional leg Latour to Paris.
