It's a bit insane espeacialy as I have never interrailed before or even been to mainland europe, I also haven't checked whether it is even possible so I expect it to change a fair bit.
Just wondering if anyone else has attempted similar and what their experences were, as I have just over 3 months to plan the trip.

Ok just actually went through train availablities on [ux]https://rail.shop/bahn[/ux] (so useful) and found the route wasn't going to work. after a few tweaks (mainly skipping Spain and Munich whilst adding in Copenhagen) I got a route that will work.

Hi,
a trip like yours is definitely feasible, although it actually might be a bit much for a first timer. Anyway, if you want to, just do it. You should adjust some parts of your planned route though. ;)
Night 1: How have you planned to go to Geneve overnight? There are no night trains from anywhere to the city. The only way I could imagine to travel overnight would be Le Havre - Paris - Köln - Basel - Geneve, but this would be complicated and would take quite long as well.
Night 2: Again, what connection have you planned? Geneve - Milano, then night train to Roma would be possible.
Night 8: Not sensible/feasible overnight.
So you still need a bit of rearraning your route. While you are doing this you might think about going with the 10in22 or the 15 continuous pass...I think you should try to plan around the 10in22 since it is much cheaper and your route probably will somehow work with it as well. :)
Questions? Just ask. ;)

Hi,
Night 1 is going to be Paris Austerlitz to Aix-les-Bains-le-Revard (Couchette train) then regional express into Geneva in the morning.
Night 2 is via Milan yes.
Night 8 I had as a night train from Warszawa Centralnathe to Szczecin Glowny then from there had a number of options onwards to Berlin.
I have also fine tuned the route to get more time in certain cities.

Looking at it a 10 in 22 with a bit of fine tuning could well the best option, though I won't be able to take advantage of the extra days due to a lack time off work.

Hi Tom.
Just some thoughts not taking care now on the number of your travel days ... ;)
I personally think Venice is nice, but full of tourists (and therefore expensive). I always enjoyed the city when arriving in the early morning there before all the people are on the streets - then it is nice. :)
Instead of staying 2 or 3 nights in Venice, think about to continue to Slovenia (border crossing like explained here: https://rail.cc/blog/travel-lake-bled-train/) and then to visit Lake Bled (https://rail.cc/en/bled/c).
From Bled continue to Vienna.
And on your way from Budapest to Poland, think about a stop in Krakow ... if you skip Warsaw, you could travel Budapest-Krakow by night train and then Krakow-Prague by night train from where you continue to Berlin.
Like I said, only some thoughts... as it is still time until you start... :)
Peter :)

Le Havre - Paris seems a bit awkward with changes in Rouen and Mantes-la-Jolie; there should be a direct train at that time as well, dep 1703, arr 1912
There is a SNCF bus service La Roche sur Foron - Genève where rail tickets are valid, allowing this connection: Paris dep 2312 - 0738 arr La Roche sur Foron dep 0812 - 0912 Genève Eaux Vives
Do you really want to go with Thalys from Amsterdam to Paris? The reservation is 39€...
