Hi Peter,
I will be travelling from Bled (Slovenia) to Florence on the 6th April by train and am concerned about two stops where apparently I must depart the train and catch a bus then back to the train where the time in between each is only 5 and 6 minutes.
I would like to know if there are maps of the train/bus stations where I can familiarise myself with the general direction of the point/s to catch the bus when I depart the train? If there are no maps I can obtain could anyone provide a general guide as to where the location of the bus point at the railway stations are?

Your help and information would be valuable.

Many thanks
Marc R

Hej Marc,

I dont know your exact route but I assume you want to go Bled - Villach - Venice Mestre - Firenze?

In Villach the buses leave in front of the main station, turn right from the main entrance. The distance is not very far and the transfer is no problem if the train is on time.
In Venezia Mestre the buses also stop directly in front of the station however I cannot gelp with exact details as I never used the bus on that route (just Udine - Villach).

In general, there is no dedicated website with station maps - some train companies offer them but not all and you have to search for them on the websites of the different railway companies.

Anyway, depending on your travel plans there are other ways to go from Bled to Venice: Either by train via Villach (two trains per day) or by train to Nova Gorica, walk/bus/taxi across the town to neighbouring Gorizia in Italy, then by train again to Venice. In fact, you could also go to Sezana via Nova Gorica, then bus/taxi to Villa Opicina, tramway to Trieste and train to Venice.

Hi, there are many places where you can get a bus form Slovenia to Italy, which are Sezana (arrival in Trieste) and Nova Gorica (arrival in Gorizia). However travelling just by train is faster and allows you to travel by night, the route is this:
Bled dep 21:20 - Jesenice arr 21:36 train R 4220 (Transfer time 17 min.)
Jesenice dep 21:53 - Villach Hbf arr 22:32 train D 414 (Transfer time 1:34 h)
Villach Hbf dep 00:06 - Firenze S.M.N. arr 06:18 train EN 235 EuroNight
