I would like to ask some information about the night train from Amsterdam to Prague. My friends and I, totally 5 persons will plan to visit Prague, Vienna, and Budapest for a week in the begining of May 2013. The questions as follows;

1. From the website, the price is 37.5 euro for Couchette 4, is it the total price per person?

2. It said that the departure location shuld be in Germany, but the route is from Amsterdam Centraal staion. Then where can I take the train?

3. When I follow your instruction to buy the ticket from the DB BAHN website, the price is it not like on the website, how can I get the ticket with the same price as present in the website?

Your kind information is very much appreciated.

Kind regards,
J. Intrasook

Hi J. Intrasook.

First thing I have to know: do you travel with a rail pass (Interrail: [ux]https://rail.cc/en/first-time-interrail) OR with point to point tickets.

1) It is the price if you travel with an Interrail pass, as it is marked: Rail Pass: supplement for Rail Pass (InterRail and Eurail) travelers.
If you want to travel with a normal point to point train ticket, the prices depends on your travel date.
Just go to the website, check the date and order the ticket: https://rail.shop/bahn?s=Amsterdam-Centraal&e=Prague&l=en

2) It is only important for travellers with a rail pass, as it is marked: Interrail and Eurail: if you want to make an online ...
But if you travel with an Interrail pass, it is not valid in your country of residence which seems to be the Netherlands?
https://rail.cc/en/how-to-interrail

3) The price mentioned at railcc is the price for rail pass travellers. And if you follow the instruction for example for Amsterdam to Dresden, you will find the price like mentioned on railcc.
:arr: https://rail.cc/en/night-train/amsterdam-prague-cnl-457/15

If you book early, you can get good prices without railpass. And if you travel your route in the other sense, you can buy them all online.

Amsterdam - Munich: e-ticket for night train from EUR 59 (seat) or EUR 79 for 4-bed-couchette at [ux]https://rail.shop/bahn[/ux] - you need a stop in between in Germany to be able to buy the tickets online.
Day train Amsterdam - Munich is available from EUR 39.

Munich - Vienna: e-ticket from EUR 29 at [ux]https://rail.shop/bahn[/ux]

If you like to travel during the day, you can make Amsterdam - Munich - Vienna for EUR 68 (39+29), but it is a trip of 11 hours.

Vienna - Budapest: e-ticket from EUR 19 at https://rail.shop/oebb[/ux]

Budapest - Prague: e-ticket from EUR 19 (seat) or night train 4-bed-couchette from EUR 39 at [ux]https://rail.shop/mav[/ux]
Pick up your ticket in Budapest Keleti station at the ticket machine. Very easy and save.

Prague - Amsterdam: e-ticket for night train from EUR 29 (seat) or EUR 59 for 4-bed-couchette at [ux]https://rail.shop/bahn[/ux]
