Does any one have any comments on this route? (I know it's bus for last stage)
I have read that the passport stamps of some countries causes issues in other countries. This is hearsay but I would welcome advice on this.

Hej!
Budapest - Belgrade: :arr: https://rail.cc/en/train/budapest-to-belgrade Get a Beograd Special at Budapest Keleti station, 15€ one way.
Belgrade - Bar: :arr: https://rail.cc/en/train/belgrade-to-bar Get the ticket directly at Belgrade station, either at the ticket office (in the station building on the right hand side when arriving) or at the Wasteels office at the front entrance; 21€ one way
I'd recommend to go Belgrade - Bar during the day to enjoy the fanstastic line down through the mountains to Montenegro inclusive of Mala Rijea bridge, highest railway bridge of Europe/the World (depending on the source).
Bar - Dubrovnik by bus should be no big deal but I cant provide you with details...
The passport issue you are referring to probably is the one with Serbia/Kosovo, you might get problems when entering Serbia from Kosovo if you entered Kosovo from another country than Serbia - this is regarded as illegal entry.

Flow:
Many thanks.
Is it worth staying a night in Belgrade?
Any thoughts on Dubrovnik to Tirana like how, best time etc? I ask because I'd like to see Albania before it is too much changed.

1. there is No direct bus from Bar to Dub-in fact buses from Bar are very scarce-its the end of the line and a dusty port-but for connections you better get off the train before. Buslinks vary a lot with season-so tell about when. You will have to change most of times- Kotor or Hercegnovi. Google for libertasdubrovink=the local busco. for possible ''times' and do not expect to have them for summer untill the day before.
2.ALbania has already changed a lot-surely since communism fell, the chinese went and the Enver dear leader Hoxha statues were torn down. without car you can only go in/out via 2-3 ways (excl. Kosovo) and the bus is again not from Bar-and also not from Podgorica, but from Ulcinj-get there by minibus from Bar and go INTO town-the little red Mercedes bus to Shkoder.

You guys are a goldmine of information.
Please how do we get Belgrade to Ulcinj?
Do we go to Bar or is there a better railway station?
Do we need to stay Bar overnight or do the connections work out OK?
(Please be patient,........ we 're getting there slowly but surely.)

Hej,
Bar is the final stop of the railway line from Belgrade. There are several buses to Ulcinj from Bar, taking about 30-45 minutes. If the day train from Belgrade is on time, there is still a connection to Ulcinj but the train still is likely for longer delays so I would plan with an extra night in Bar (or somewhere else in the area, Sutomore or even Podgorica, depending on your plans).
