Istanbul, Plovdiv, Montenegro, Dubrovnik, Venice, Slovenia, Bratislava, Prague, Berlin, Bruges and then Amsterdam back to London.

This is the route me and my friend have planned for June 2013. We will be flying out to Istanbul on the 12th. This is our first time interrailing and we're struggling with getting from Croatia to Venice. Does anyone know what our best way might be?

Is there anything with our route that may be a struggle?

Many thanks :D

Hej!

# Istanbul - Plovdiv: From March 2013, the Balkan Express Istanbul - Sofia :arr: https://rail.cc/en/night-train/istanbul-sofia-d-81032/310 will be replaced by bus between Istanbul and Kapikule so expect a rather short night.
# Plovdiv - Montenegro: From Sofia to Belgrade there is currently only the night train running :arr: https://rail.cc/en/night-train/sofia-belgrade-b-292/180 so I would recommend to leave Plovdiv early and spend the day in Sofia.
In Belgrade you can then get the day train to Montenegro after a breakfast directly at one of the cafes at the station. :arr: https://rail.cc/en/train/belgrade-to-bar
# Montenegro - Dubrovnik - Slovenia: To Dubrovnik by bus, then bus again to Split. From Split to Zagreb by day or night train :arr: https://rail.cc/en/train/split-to-zagreb then on to Ljubljana or whereever you want to go in Slovenia :arr: https://rail.cc/en/train/zagreb-to-ljubljana
# Slovenia - Venice: :arr: https://rail.cc/en/train/ljubljana-to-venice :arr: https://rail.cc/blog/travel-lake-bled-train/
# Venice - Bratislava: Best thing to do probably is by night train to Vienna, from there frequent connections run to Bratislava (I recommend to take the trains via Marchegg, which arrive at Bratislava hlavni stanica, the main station; the trains via Bruck/Leitha arrive at Petrzalka, a suburb quite a bit away from the centre). Connections during the day are available as well. Attention, the trains to Bratislava hlavni stanica depart from Wien Hbf, while you arrive either at Westbahnhof or Meidling. :arr: https://rail.cc/en/train/venice-to-vienna :arr: https://rail.cc/en/train/vienna-to-bratislava
# Bratislava - Prague: :arr: https://rail.cc/en/train/bratislava-to-prague
# Prague - Berlin: :arr: https://rail.cc/en/train/prague-to-berlin
# Berlin - Bruges: First to Brussels :arr: https://rail.cc/en/train/berlin-to-brussels then frequent IC trains run to Bruges :arr: https://rail.cc/en/train/brussels-to-bruges
# Bruges - Amsterdam: :arr: https://rail.cc/en/train/bruges-to-amsterdam
