Hi,
I'm studying at art college in leeds, england and i'm going interrailing for the first time in march/april and i wanted a little help....

I'm doing my final degree project on trying to integrate art and travel by setting tasks for myself on my travels - 'tasks' for example could be anything that will help us experience every culture in a different light, so i'm looking for suggestions - an example is to create a series of images from every bed that you stay in (through photos etc), but it could be anything...

If you have any ideas you can reply or pm me, or email if you prefer. it'd be good also if you are from the countries i am going to but not essential.

I'm travelling for 3 weeks -
Paris-Brussels-Amsterdam-Hamburg-Copenhagen-Berlin-Warsaw-Krakow-Prague

so any specific suggestions for ideas, art galleries, day excursions etc to get the most out of the trip (and fr my project) would be very much appreciated! This project will potentially be a book and a website where of course you would be credited.

I'm sure you will see me on here nearer the time panicking about trains and things!

Thanks a lot,
Lindsay

Hey,

I'm not sure whether I got your request correctly but if you need tips in the artsy direction,..

first of all youre gonna love Berlin. ^^
me I have a preferance for street art and that city just is full of it.
you need to experience the part of the city called Prenzlauer Berg. The whole atmosphere is just amazing and especially if you wanna take photos.. got there. I loved it :)

also, next to the Hackesche Höfe (who, themselves, are a popular sight in means of art and architecture, youll find them in any guide), actually right ebside them is the Haus Schwarzenberg which is house full of art projects. even the entrance looks great, theres a gallery in there and s hop with not-yet-so-known berlin artists, selling cartoons, buttons, books, just anything. its really enchanting :)

oh and go up the TV tower by night. it looks so nice :)

hope I helped you and didnt completely miss your point^^

hi,
thanks for that,

yeah i'm looking for suggestions of places to go, but also of things to do for me to do as an artists - for example, take a picture of every person you sit next to on a train, or draw the most interesting peice of food you eat, etc. to find different and unusual ways to experience the cities... I'm looking for interesting and unusual places to go and see, 'off-the-beaten track sort of thing, so if you know any wensites/places etc it's all helpful.

thanks!!
:)

well in berlin there are those oldschool photobooths which I absolutely adore, creating those strips, some are black and white, some coloured. two of them are in kastanienallee in the quarter prenzlauerberg that I mentioned but I'Ve heard there are more.

maybe you could do a series with photobooths (i think they got some style) though maybe that is considered little innovative since the movie Le fabouleux destin d'Amélie Poulain (i dont know the english title) but however I think photobooths really rock.

theres so much you could do if a great idea hits me Ill let you know^^
