I'm planning to interrail next summer with my sister and we are considering this route for a total of around 3 weeks:
Berlin-Prague-Vienna-Bled-Venice-Rome-Split(via ferry from Ancona)
Do you think this is do-able? We would like to be able to spend at least 4 days in Split (probably on an island) to finish our trip with a more relaxing stay. Is there any island in particular we should stay on?
We intend to stay 2 nights in most places but is there anywhere you would recommend spending less time in or more time in somewhere else? Or is there anywhere we've missed that might be worthwhile?
All advice appreciated!

Hej,
first, have a look here for basic information: :arr: https://rail.cc/en/first-time-interrail
Then, you should think of what kind of pass you want to get and how long you want to travel in total - I would recommend either the 5in10 or 10in22 pass. With the 5in10, you cant do all legs with InterRail and would need to get a regular ticket for at least one leg, with the 10in22 I would recommend to fit in some more places to get the most out of it.
In general, your route looks OK, not much to worry about. You can get by without extra reservations except for Venice - Rome, for that leg I would recommend to use a Frecciargento high speed train with 10€ reservation costs.
Rome - Ancona (for the ferry to Split) is also best with a high speed train but can also be done (as Rome - Venice by local trains without reservation.
If you want, you could also include a short visit to the Swiss Alps to the Bernina Railway: :arr: https://rail.cc/blog/zurich-milano-albula-bernina/
From Bled to Sargans with the night train :arr: https://rail.cc/en/night-train/belgrade-zurich-en-414/159 then continue to Pontresina and stay overnight. The following day you could go to Milan with Bernina railway, then continue to Venice.
You could also go to Budapest: Prague - Budapest night train, then spend the day there and go to Vienna in the evening, or, if you like it, stay one night.

Hey Flow,
Thanks for your help! Will probably go for the 10 in 22pass as would much rather squeeze a few more places in to get the most from it! Thanks for the advice about the reservation charges and high speed train. Will definitely look into that along with the options for adding in a few more places!! You're very knowledgeable!! Thanks!
