Budapest- Vienna- Prague- Berlin- Frankfurt- Munich- Venice- Florence- Rome
Me and my girlfriend will be inter-railing for the first time this summer and this is our planned rough route. Im aware that its probably asking alot in terms of time spent in places. Ive also heard that Croatia is worth a visit?
Any thoughts and info would be great :D

Is there a particular reason that you would want to visit frankfurt?
Its quite industrial and in all honesty there isnt a great amount to do, there are a lot of museums(2nd most in germany after berlin)
However there arent many actual historical landmarks, i went in december for the christmas markets but if it wasnt for that my visit could have been over in a day.

Well, looks like a perfectly fine route to me...what kind of ticket do you intend to buy?
On your way through Switzerland you might think of spending some time in the Alps, for instance on the Bernina pass: :arr: https://rail.cc/blog/zurich-milano-albula-bernina/
Regarding reservations...you wont need many, just for travel to and within Italy.
Croatia is fine although the railway network is not really dense and connections to/from Italy are also not too good. Depends on where you'd like to go. You might also think of visiting Montenegro... :)

Thanks for the feedback. I have a friend in Frankfurt- thats the main reason. As for the alps- I think the plan is to spend some time in Bavaria, especially around Munich. The ticket we have gone for is the 23 day unlimited one.

Hej,
well if you have the 22 days continuous pass, I would try to add some more stops, otherwise a 10in22 would have done just fine while being cheaper. :|

Budapest - Vienna - Prague - Berlin - Frankfurt - Rome
Hi, your route is nice but there are some cities that you can't miss, for example Dresden, Munich (Munchen), Salzburg, and Innsbruck. Dresden is between Prague and Berlin and you should pass 1 or 2 days there, then you could eliminate Frankfurt that's an industrial city and visit some other austrian cities such as Salzburg; then in my opinion Venice and Florence are better than Rome (I'm Italian, I've visited them loads of times). Your new route could be:
Budapest (3 days)
Vienna (3 days)
Prague (3 days)
Dresden (1 day)
Berlin (3-4 days)
Munich (2 days)
Salzburg (1 day)
Innsbruck (1 day)
Venice (3 days)
Florence (2-3 days)
Rome (3 days)
Cheers!
