I'm trying to plan my honeymoon, we have 14 nights total. Going from USA (Boston) to Zurich.. then workng our way to Milan, Italy via Locarno and the Centovelli Railway (then Domodossola to Milan).

One in Milan using the interrail to Rome; Rome to Florence; Florence to Venice. Then flying home from Venice. I'd appreciate any tips and route suggestions.

Hi,
I think you have to use a Eurail pass not the interrail pass, because you are not living in the EU, or do you have a european citizenship?
I assume you are going to buy the ITALY | EuRail ONE COUNTRY Pass for Italy, which is at least 219€ (3 days in 2 month). I think you will save money, if you look for point to point connections. Therefore check [ux]https://rail.shop/omio[/ux] and [ux]https://rail.shop/sbb[/ux]
Maybe you check out this https://rail.cc/en/train/zurich-to-milan You need a day for this trip, but I can recommend it :) For example you can stay in Lago Di Como, e.g. Lecco. Or you continue to Lugano, where you can arrive at 9:30 pm. (Tirano - Monza - Lugano).

Hej,

as NatureOne already said, you probably are better off if you get regular tickets for Italy on the internet via https://rail.shop/acprail/trenitalia/. Depending on whether you would like to include another stop in Switzerland you could think of getting a Eurail pass for Switzerland or also use regular tickets - the thing is that Eurail is not available for 2nd class but you can save quite some money if you buy regular tickets for 2nd class. Depends on your needs if you want to spend that extra money for 1st class.

Thanks so much for both of your responses. I didn't realize interrail was only for EU citizens.

I don't think 2nd class is an issue for us, so we will check out the point to point connections.

Do you think the itinerary sounds reasonable?

Thanks!
