Hi,
First time travelling to Europe. Been to Istanbul though :)
This is the route that i have chalked out, found hostels in all the cities and they are available online for booking.
Am confused with intercity travel. easiest pick is to get a EURAIL pass, but if there is a way to save money, i'll accept it gladly.

Also, if you guys think, the route needs to be changed, am all ears. :)

Kindly advise ! :)

Hi!

In your case, you might do just fine with regular tickets bought in advance.

You will be able to purchase most or all of them online before departure and then print them out.

Paris - Venice: Thello overnight train, online tickets available here :arr: [ux]https://rail.shop/omio[/ux]
Eurail is not valid on Thello services, so you would have to go either via Nice - Milano or Lausanne - Milano instead.

Venice - Wien: Best option is the direct overnight train, online tickets at [ux]https://rail.shop/oebb[/ux]

Wien - Budapest: As above

Budapest - Praha: Buy either at MAV or CD [ux]https://rail.shop/mav[/ux] or [ux]https://rail.shop/cd[/ux]

Praha - Amsterdam: Directly via railcc: [ux]https://rail.shop/bahn/Praha-Amsterdam-Centraal[/ux] I recommend the direct overnight train

You can compare the prices for each leg (the earlier you book the cheaper are regular tickets) with the extra reservation fees you would have to pay when travelling with Eurail:
