Hi everyone,

My boyfriend and I are currently planning a trip to Europe in May and June next year.

We have roughly mapped out the following itinerary: Zagreb – Munich – Venice – Florence – Rome (overnight train) - Paris.

Given the spread of countries, would it be worth us getting a Eurail pass or single tickets? Apart from the overnight train between Rome and Paris, we are happy to use the slower, local trains and don't mind travelling during the day.

Thanks for your help! :)

Also, do you think it is worth adding Bled as a stop between Zagreb and Munich and Innsbruck as a stop between Munich and Venice?

Hej,

whether you should go with a Eurail pass or not mainly depends on your age when you are travelling - if you still are under 26 then, a Eurail pass might be a good idea, if not it will be cheaper with regular tickets - as you would then have to get 1st class Eurail passes.

Since you would need extra reservations on some routes I think it is worth looking at regular tickets:

You can check prices and get them online for Zagreb - Munich - Venice here : [ux]https://rail.shop/bahn[/ux]

And Venice - Florence - Rome here: [ux]https://rail.shop/omio[/ux] or [ux]https://rail.shop/acprail/trenitalia[/ux]

Thello, the company which runs the night trains Venice - Paris and Rome - Paris does not accept InterRail and Eurail passes at the moment so you would have to get regular tickets for the trip to Paris anyway.
