Hi there

I am travelling next year for approximately 40 days. I am commencing my trip in London. I want to travel to Paris, Barcelona, Prague, Krakow, Budapest, Croatia coast and Rome. I predominantly want to get night trains. Would it be better to get point to point tickets, Eurail or Interrail? Any suggestions for an itinery? Any suggestions for other possible stopovers? Any suggestions for how long in each of these places? Thanks for any advice :D

Hi.
If you want to compare prices, you have to do it on your own. Check the websites of the national railway companies.
Travelling such a big round, in most cases Interrail will be cheaper. :)
Interrail is for Europeans, Eurail for non-Europeans. So you can not decided in between.
As you are from the UK, you will have to buy Interrail.
Have a look here for connections: https://rail.cc/en/search-interrail-route
I recommend 2-3 nights per city...
Peter :)

Hey,
for you as an Australian, you have to choose EURail. Interrail is only valid for Europeans. So the easiest way might be a Global Pass: https://rail.cc/en/eurail-global-pass . I would recommend 15 days within 2 month, as you want to travel 40 days. If you need more travel days, I would advise 21 days straight and a 15 days straight.

If you start in London you have the options to go Europe, by train (~50€ if you prebook the Eurostar) otherwise you can take ferrys from Harwich to Hoek van Holland or Dover to Calais or a plan (e.g. Ryanair) to a place in Europe you like to visit.

It depends on you, how long you like to stay at one place. For myself I think 2-3 days per city should be fine. Maybe 4-5 for Paris, you may visit Versailles, it's a great castle.

So maybe: London - Bruxelles - Paris - Barcelona (https://rail.cc/blog/little-yellow-train-video/) - Zurich (expensive night train) - Milano (highly recommend this route: https://rail.cc/en/interrail/zurich-to-milan ) - Rome - Vienna - Krakow - Prague - Budapest - Split (Croatia) - Zagreb - Munich - Amsterdam - London

It's just a planned quickly :) only a suggestionl.
