Hi - our family of 2 adults and 4 kids (aged 13, 10, 8 and 6) will be taking 2 train trips in Europe. From Rome-Venice and Venice to Vienna. should we buy eurail pass? or point to point? Also we want sleeper from Venice to Vienna which may be relevant when figuring out cost/benefit of 2 options. Any help much appreciated.

australia? are you from australia? Otherwise it would be Austria :D
Anyway:
Point-to-Point
Rome - Venezia:
starts at:
Children 30€ (10€/ person)
Adult (12+) 87€ (29€/person)

Venezia - Vienna:
I checked the prices for today:
226€ for train
extra fee: 240€ for sleeper
Sleeper for your family: 466€

But you may save some money, if you prebook :) the price starts at 29€ for the night train (plus reservation for a sleeper).

Hi.
Do it like NatureOne said, buy point to point - and if you prebook, it will be definitely cheaper than an Eurail pass.
The tickets are available as e-tickets. Easy and save.

For Rome to Venice use: [ux]https://rail.shop/omio[/ux]

For Venice to Vienna use either [ux]https://rail.shop/oebb[/ux] or have a look on trenitalia.com

Peter :)
