...Milan, Barcelona, Madrid and Paris.

Hello

I am planning a trip around Europe for 1 month this autum. I’d like to visit the following cities Berlin, Prague, Vienna, Budapest, Zagreb, Rome, Florence, Milan, Barcelona, Madrid and Paris.

I think the 1 month global interrail pass makes the most sense, as I’ll have the freedom to travel on any day. Would you agree?

What is the best way of getting from Zagreb to Rome as there doesn’t seem to be a direct train? I don't mind paying for a fight or using connecting trains.

Also, I’ve pretty much got my route planned but if you think there are any other cities worth visiting in-between for a day or so please let me know.

Many thanks in advance!

Hey,
I think the easiest way would be this connection:

leave Zagreb at 18:14 to Villach (22:32), where you can grab a night train to Rome at 0:06. So you'll arrive at 9:08.
The night train starts in Vienna, so it might be easier to travel like this: Prague - Budapest - Zagreb - Vienna.
Prague - Budapest:

Budapest - Zagreb: https://rail.cc/en/interrail/budapest-to-zagreb

Zagreb - Vienna: https://rail.cc/en/interrail/zagreb-to-vienna

Vienna - Rome: https://rail.cc/en/interrail/vienna-to-rome

You also may add Venedig to your route. Therefore check out this: https://rail.cc/en/night-train/vienna-rome-en-40233/92 & https://rail.cc/en/interrail-night-train/belgrade-zurich-en-414/159
