I searched connections from Madrid to Lisbon and from Seville to Lisbon but could only find night trains. This does not work for me. i am arriving in Madrid/Seville in the morning and need an immediate connection to Lisbon to stay within two days for my 5to10 pass. Is there no train connection to Lisbon during daytime hrs? Any help is very much appreciated. Also the night train from Madrid is HOT and requires supplement payment. How much would be the extra fee ?

Thanks Flo for the info, though i find it hard to believe that there is no daytime train :| There is a 7€ fee supplement for the HOT 2nd class sleeperette from Madrid to Lisbon, is this correct?

Thanks again,
Alfred

Hi.
But it is the truth - no day train currently! :|
Yes, like it is written at the link Flow gave you, sleeperette in 2nd class is EUR 7.

Hej,

well, as sad as it is but there are indeed no daytime connections. As of now, there are only four trains each day between Spain and Portugal: Madrid - Lisboa, Irun/Hendaye - Lisboa and two Vigo - Porto trains.
There was a daytime connection via Badajoz until some months ago but it has been withdrawn due to economical difficulties of CP.

Thanks for your help. Is there a way to find out which trains have Wifi connection, and what would you say is wifi connectivity fairly common or rather rare on trains from Vienna to Lisbon? Do all TGV cars have wifi connectivity? How about HOT, Euronight?

Thanks You

Hummm...

I dont know your exact route but I would travel like this:

Wien - München: Railjet, WiFi within Austria
München - Paris: CNL, no WiFi
Paris - Irun: TGV, no WiFi (only available on iDTGV I think but these cannot be used with InterRail, only with prebooked online tickets)
Irun - Lisboa: HOT, no WiFi
