Hello travelers, I was wondering what the cheapest way to Croatia from Budapest would be, time is no issue. Also leaving from Croatia heading back to Zurich, train!? Any suggestions or cost ideas?

The easiest way from Croatia to Zurich might be this one: https://rail.cc/en/interrail-night-train/belgrade-zurich-en-414/159 a direct night train. But you will need two days of your Interrail pass because of the 7pm rule. Train takes dep. at 18:14 in Zagreb.

Check out some night trains from Budapest to Croatia here: https://rail.cc/en/interrail-night-train/hungary/hu or here: https://rail.cc/en/search-interrail-route

Hi.
For standard fares you will have to contact mav-start.hu (Hungary) and hznet.hr (Croatia).
Peter :)

btw the direct train to Split or Pula only runs in the summer. Otherwise you have to change in Zagreb. Check [ux]https://rail.shop/bahn[/ux] for connections :) or the sites Peter mentioned.
