Me and my boyfriend are planning a month long trip in july this year. Because of the time of year and to make the trip slightly less stressful and more relaxing we are planning to book most of our hostels in advance as we already have ideas about how long we want to spend at each place etc.
But how can we be sure that the day we want to leave a place for the next there will be a train available? Is it a case of looking at each country's timetables (which dont seem to be available that far in advance) or is there a better way? :o

Advice appreciated!

Hi. :)

Use this website to find all European train schedules:
https://rail.cc/en/search-interrail-route

At the beginning of April, you will find all the new summer schedules.

And when booking your hostels at the beginning of the month of May, you will still get a nice bed everywhere!! :)

Have a lot of fun on your tour,
Peter

but still ask about countries and trains cause in some occasions the trains are too late so probably its useless to book the hostels in advance..
(i am talking about balkans :)) )
hm.. it would be also interesting if we collect nice and cheap hostels around europe in a special topic.. ;)

... you are right... in the summer months and when the train arrives late in the evening, it is useful to make a reservation in advance, especially for the big cities...! :)

I just wanted to say that you do not need the reservations six months in advance... :)

and a topic about nice hostels... yes... I will reorganize the topics new during winter... :)
