Hello travellers!
I travel from Linz to Innsbruck and I am wondering if I have to make a reservation for tickets within the country (not international). (i live in belgium) Or can I just by a ticket when I arrive there? It is so difficult to guess when I will arrive at Linz, early in the morning. I understood we can only reserve for a fixed train? We cannot take a later train when we arrive later?
greetz and thanks a lot

Hi,
you do not need reservations for domestic trains in Austria (also for most international trains you dont need one).
If you are not travelling with InterRail, just buy your ticket at the counter. However, it may be cheaper for you if you buy an advance Sparschiene online at the website of ÖBB: :arr: http://www.oebb.at/en/Travelling_in_Austria/SparSchiene_Austria/index.jsp
