Hello,

According to Interrail's conditions of use : If the trip starts in a through overnight train departing after 19h00, the next day's date must be entered.

What is the accurate definition of an overnight train ? A train arriving after midnight, or another hour ? A train conveying sleeping accomodation ? Something else ?

Thanks,

Nico.

Hi there

An overnight train is a train travelling overnight. Generally these may leave after 6pm and may arrive as early, for some unlucky travellers, as 4 or 5 in the morning.

Overnight trains can have seats, reclining seats, compartments, couchettes, sleepers. Some overnight trains are quite luxurious, e.g., Trainhotel.

The make-up of night trains varies and can be found in the Thomas Cook European Rail Timetable, which can be found in some good bookshops and libraries.

Hope this is helpful.
