Hello,

A friend who is travelling with me wants to book a couchete (6beds) in the night train from Munich to Amsterdam in the 11th August and we are trying to do it from DB website (and railcc) but it seems it is all full!

Do you think they are all full or we could book at a station in Budapeste or Wien (our next stops)?

Also the seated places can be reserved before or he just pays the supplement at Munich and hop on the train?

He needs to go from Wien to Amsterdam to catch a flight and he was thinking on doing this route:

Thanks so much for even reading our question!

Hi,

well there is a chance that there is still a contingent left which is not available online but I doubt it as Sat>Sun is always well booked.

What are the alternatives?

- Leaving Munich earlier on Friday:
München 1647 - 2137 Düsseldorf
Düsseldorf 2148 - 2256 Venlo
Venlo 2319 - 0000 Eindhoven
Eindhoven 0030 - 0256 Schiphol

Not the most comfortable option, but still...

- Travelling overnight with a stop in Stuttgart:
München 2247 - 0116 Stuttgart (ironically travelling in 2nd class coaches which are attached to the night train to Amsterdam until Stuttgart)
Stuttgart 0305 - 0821 Dortmund
Dortmund 0837 - 0910 Duisburg (you will be travelling Duisburg - Dortmund - Duisburg and can sleep longer on the train since the 0926 from Duisburg is the first option to the Netherlands in the morning)
Duisburg 0926 - 1058 Utrecht
Utrecht 1113 - 1144 Schiphol

- Travelling with the night train from Budapest:
a)
Budapest 2005 - 0946 Berlin
Berlin 1037 - 1709 Schiphol

b)
Budapest 2110 - 0615 München
München 0649 - 1150 Duisburg
Duisburg 1200 - 1227 Viersen
Viersen 1233 - 1256 Venlo
Venlo 1300 - 1352 Nijmegen
Nijmegen 1357 - 1529 Schiphol
