hi guys
i was wondering if you could help me plan my trip.
i want to get from paris to granada on the 8/08/2012
and i would like to go from granada to sarajevo on the 12/08/2012
and finally sarajevo to istanbul 16/08/2012
i am very flexible with dates as long as i arrive in istanbu by the 17/08/2012. i also do not mind the length of the journey as long as i save money on reervations that are very expensive and im also ok with night trains :)
herbi :D

Hi.
It's really a long trip you plan.
You will find all connections and information about extra fees here in the railcc schedules: https://rail.cc/en/search-interrail-route
To save money, I recommend first: Paris - Barcelona (maybe include the Little Yellow Train)
https://rail.cc/blog/little-yellow-train-video/
Then by direct train from Barcelona to Granada: for example with the cheap night train.
https://rail.cc/en/interrail/barcelona-to-granada
Back again via Barcelona either along the French coast with stop in Nice to Italy.
OR by direct night train to Milan. All information in the railcc schedules.
Cross Italy - then via the border to Slovenia: https://rail.cc/blog/travel-lake-bled-train/
Then go to Zagreb, from there to Sarajevo: https://rail.cc/en/interrail/zagreb-to-sarajevo
From Sarajevo via Belgrade to Sofia.
From Sofia either by direct bus to Istanbul (EUR 25) - or by train/bus, as in Turkey there are rail track works around Istanbul. But it is included the train/bus combination.

And if you like the information on railcc, support us and buy your official Interrail pass in our partner. Thank you.

Hi.
Just use the links given above in my first topic.
Except Zagreb-Sarajevo-Sofia you travel Zagreb-Belgrade-Sofia.
So Grenada - Barcelona - Nice - Milan - Venice - border crossing Slovenia - Ljubljana - Zagreb - Belgrade - Sofia
And finally either by direct bus (EUR 25 from Sofia to Istanbul) or train (with bus replacement at the border, included in Interrail).
Information about how to get reservations is always mentioned if you click the train details. Recommended is to book reservations at train stations.
You only need as reservation:
Grenada-Barcelona: if you want to use the night train, you can buy it here on railcc. Otherwise buy it directly in Spain at a railway station.
Nice-Milan: from the border of Italy (Ventigmilia) to Milan it is an IC, you can use it for free, but a reservation of EUR 3 is recommended.
Belgrade-Sofia: if you want to use the night train, you will have to buy it directly at the train station in Belgrade.

Hi.
Just use the schedules: https://rail.cc/en/search-eurail-route
And travel this way: Grenada - Barcelona - Nice - Milan - Venice - border crossing Slovenia - Ljubljana - Zagreb - Belgrade - Sofia - Istanbul
You will find the schedules at the link above.
General schedules: [ux]https://rail.shop/bahn[/ux]
Shipping to Spain is up to 7 business days - so too late to order online on railcc.

Hi Peter am I right in assuming Belgrade to Istanbul line isn't working and I have to stop off at Sofia? Or can I get the direct night train from Belgrade to Istanbul?

So first by train from Belgrade to Sofia. Then by train or bus from Sofia to Istanbul. No direct train, it is a change at the border to a bus included in Interrail.
