Hi in ten short days im leaving on my first Interrail trip. Naively I thought booking train reservations would be much easier, as well at the cost being more fixed.I thought for the CNL night train between Munich and Venice would be 9 euros by getting train prices from the Interrail website.

However on Raileur*pe im getting quoted £62. Also International train reservations can't be booked DB Bahn website. I was wondering do you know where or how I can get a reservation for the train.

Lastly im going to the London Rail Travel Center in a few days to get the rest of my reservations booked but after the RailEur*pe price hike, Im going to try book most of them before, I tried to work out the reservations, can you check them.

Hi.

Munich to Venice:
The price for a reservation is NOT the one like you said it is shown at RE and it is also NOT correct like mentioned at the other website with EUR 9.
It is EUR 11,50 like shown here on railcc. More information and all the details you need:
https://rail.cc/en/interrail-night-train/munich-venice-en-40463/37
Booking: make the booking like mentioned bellow the map, it is an e-ticket and the cheapest option is EUR 11,50.

Concerning your route, just use the railcc schedules: https://rail.cc/en/search-interrail-route
And compare it with the reservation and supplements section: https://rail.cc/en/interrail-train-reservation
Everything is up to date and explained in detail. :)

For your trip to Zermatt, you have to pay using the Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn (https://rail.cc/en/interrail-train-reservation/matterhorn-gotthard-bahn-regional/215) on Visp to Zermatt.
There is only a small discount (25%) on it with an Interrail Youth Pass. The tickets are available (~ EUR 15 without discount, one-way) at the stations there or directly in the train. Don't use the Glacier Express (extra reservation of CHF 10), use the free regional trains where you can open the windows!

An alternative route from Milan crossing the Alps to Zurich including Zermatt is like this travel route described here:
https://rail.cc/blog/zurich-milano-albula-bernina/
And make an overnight stop in one of them:

Available online: [ux]https://rail.shop/acprail/reservation[/ux]
It's a Lyria TGV not a normal TGV! You can also travel for FREE, but it's a long trip then:
https://rail.cc/en/interrail/zurich-to-paris

PAY TGV Paris Nord Calais-Fréthun 16:46 – 23rd 18:22 – 23rd £4.70 1HR 36M
Don't use the TGV, use FREE trains: https://rail.cc/en/interrail/paris-to-calais

So you see... if a reservation is required for your trip, you can get it online here at railcc or other links mentioned. And we always show free alternative routes (and also more scenic) ones. :)

And finally, if you like this help and all the information saving your money, support railcc and buy your official Interrail Pass via our partner link [ux]https://rail.shop/interrail[/ux]
Thank you for supporting! :)

Peter :)
