Looking for the best route from Vienna/Munich to Strasbourg/Rust we are going for a stop at Europa Park.

Any advice?

Will probably ask more noob questions regarding our backpacking. We are leaving on the 28th

Berlin - Prague - Bratislava - Budapest - Vienna - Rust/Strasbourg - Amsterdam - Berlin in 15 days is the plan.

Does it sound doable?

hey,
I think its a possible route :)
Maybe you take a night train from vienna to Frankfurt :) because so you can go and enjoy the park for a whole day :) because EP opens at 9 am.
[ux]https://rail.shop/bahn[/ux] offers this connection:

Wien Westbahnhof Di, 31.07.12 ab 19:48 EN 420 EuroNight
Frankfurt(Main)Hbf Mi, 01.08.12 an 06:02 4
Frankfurt(Main)Hbf Mi, 01.08.12 ab 06:50 9 ICE 271 Intercity-Express
Offenburg Mi, 01.08.12 an 08:27 1
Offenburg Mi, 01.08.12 ab 08:34 5 RE 26703 Regional-Express
Ringsheim Mi, 01.08.12 an 08:54 1

From Ringsheim you can take a shuttle bus to the Europa-Park (www.europapark.com/lang-en/Info-and-services/Arrival/by-train/c274.html)

Hej,

better take the night train Wien - Zürich, then travel to Europapark via Basel. The reservations for this night train are much cheaper than for the train to Frankfurt. :)

Well, apart from that all looks fine. If you travel during the day you wont need any extra reservations. From Rust/Strasbourg to Amsterdam, best go via Luxembourg - Bruxelles - Antwerpen. Dont use the expensive Thalys train from Bruxelles, instead go by the hourly free IC Benelux.

If we don´t wanna take the night trains, are there any options? found this, would it work:

Wien Westbahnhof Fr, 03.08.12 dep 07:40 9 OIC 860
Salzburg Hbf Fr, 03.08.12 arr 10:49 2

Transfer time 1:02 h
Salzburg Hbf Fr, 03.08.12 dep 11:51 1 EC 114
Stuttgart Hbf Fr, 03.08.12 arr 16:00 11

Transfer time 41 min.

Stuttgart Hbf Fr, 03.08.12 dep 16:41 8 IC 2364
Offenburg Fr, 03.08.12 arr 18:13 5

Transfer time 21 min.

Offenburg Fr, 03.08.12 dep 18:34 2 RB 26585
Ringsheim Fr, 03.08.12 arr 18:54 1

Would this cost anything as its all day time? I´m quite new to this. But we´d rather spend the night at a hotel in strasbourge/rust

Then spend the whole day, after a nice nights sleep, at EP.

Any comments are highly appreciated.

Yeah, this would work as well - no extra reservations needed. You can find a list of trains which do and which do not require reservations here :arr: https://rail.cc/en/interrail-train-reservation

Anyway, I would recommend this connection:

Wien West 0814 - 1230 München Hbf
München Hbf 1247 - 1550 Karlsruhe Hbf
Karlsruhe Hbf 1600 - 1627 Offenburg
Offenburg 1634 - 1654 Ringsheim

No extra reservations needed.
