Sorry to trouble you. I am going to be in Munich towards the end of next week and fancied the idea of going to see the Zugspitze CogTrain. I notice there is a hostel in Garmisch-Partenkirchen and was wondering if you could go there using your interrail pass (from Munich to G-P by train, I know it won't be valid on the cog train :D ).

PS You wouldn't know the price of the cog train off hand? Read some saying €39 while others say €47.

Thank you :)

So I think: No ;D
Price: http://www.zugspitze.de/en/summer/preise/
But I think you'll get a discount of 10% ( [ux]https://rail.shop/eurail[/ux] ) (I'm not sure about this)

That's a useful link actually. Booked into Meininger in Berlin, shame I didn't know about their discounts before I did but will try it for their breakfast - and the Zugspitze train if I do go 8)

What I was really wondering was if my pass is valid from Munich to Garmisch-Partenkirchen

if you take the Regionalbahn (RB) to Garmisch-Patenkirchen your ticket is valid :)
I hope the link i've posted is also valid for Interrail and not only for eurail.
