The people in charge may put this also in the relevant country-posts: (have no time here now)
according to DSO forum, and from an official memo of MZ=makedonski Zeljeznice (see forum lonelyplanet.com/thorntree/east-europe), there is again untill 30/9, a train FROm SKopje on SAT @ 5.05 and FROm THessaloniki on SUN @about 18.00, so an overnight in Skopje is needed anyway in either direction to connect.
