Hi guys,

Is there a train from Split, Croatia to Bar, Montenegro? I can't seem to find one.

Cheers,
Radu

Hi Radu.
Train connection only Split - Zagreb - Belgrade - Bar
Or of course much much faster by bus via Dubrovnik and Podgorica to Bar.

Thanks Peter.

And just to confirm, from Bar to Nis there's only this night train? https://rail.cc/en/bar-nis-skopje-night-train/f3912 I'm asking this as the only train I see from Nis to Sofia is at 2.11 am, so this would mean that I need to wait 20 hours to make the change.

Is there another quick way to get from Bar to Sofia?

Cheers,
Radu

Hi Radu.
As much as my information is: no direct night train anymore...
This connection is running via Belgrade... Skopje - Nis - Belgrade is the connection. Belgrade - Bar the other one... and a very scenic one ... so I recommend to travel by bus from Split to Dubrovnik , then to Montenegro and by DAY train (as very scenic) to Belgrade.

Hi Peter,

Thanks for the info. This makes it complicated. I've seen the scenic way to Belgrade, but I was hoping to get faster to Sofia.

I'll find out a way to make this work :)

Cheers,
Radu

Hi Radu.
At first sight it might look complicate. But you have frequent bus connections in this area due to the missing of railway connections along the cost. Split to Dubrovnik is very frequent. Dubrovnik to Podgorica at least two times a day. And Podgorica to Bar again very frequent. But it is not by train ... :|
