Hi I'm thinking about visiting Bled and Ljubljana in on day in my interrail trip next month. I'll catch the firs train from Venice to Gorizia and then to Bled (Thursday). Then I want to move to Budapest. I was terribly disappointed to know that the night train (Pula-Budapest) only runs on Wednesdays and Saturdays. I can catch the direct IC the next morning, but it is such a long distance to cover by day... I searched for an alternative and the OBB site says I can catch the night train to Munich leave at Salzburg at 4 am ad 6min later catch the train from Zurich to Budapest. Is it possible? Can you help me with a good suggestion?
PS: It's my first Interrail.

Edit: Found an other route: Ljubliana or Bled - Villach, Villach - Salzbourg (21:48) , Salzbourg (2:13)-Budapest

I would prefer the latter option - you could even have a short walk around Salzburg city by night. It is only a short walk from the main station.

You wont need a reservation for any of these trains - however, the 2am departure from Salzburg is said to be quite full usually so you might consider getting a reservation.

Thank you :D I've seen a lot of trains to this connection and that seems to be the best option.
